In Nova Scotia you get to sit when you testify as well. Man I couldn't imagine having to be a witness and standing for a couple hours while a lawyer is drilling me with questions. At least counsel gets to walk around a bit (even if only to present documents).
In terms of your testimony, like what was said before you won't be in the room to see the other witnesses (although you may be allowed to stay once you're finished).
Best advice is be honest, not knowing an answer and stating so confidently goes farther than guessing at an answer.
Don't forget to dress for the occasion. If you don't have a Star Trek DRESS uniform the. Go suit and tie. The standard uniform isn't dressy enough for court.
