My biggest disappointment in looking at the AHS site was finding my beloved Regal Begal on there after enjoying wing nights there for years.
I am kind of surprised they had this on the news now for something that was a problem 15 days ago, and resolved in just a day. Were they non compliant again?

I was surprised by the quick turn around, but I guess if the exterminator got rid of the eggs too they should be good. I might check back to see what the next inspection report looks like.
I looked at the Regal Begal report. Now you know they should be using a chlorine disinfectant with more than 0 PPM.

While I don't want to downplay the severity of the AHS reports, being written up for something in the food industry isn't terribly uncommon. How the matter is dealt with is far more important imo. Roaches are obviously a clear issue, but sometimes places can be written up for minor offences that most wouldn't be bothered with. I wouldn't say a presence on the list is grounds to stop going to a place.

Apparently the german cockroach is the most prolific in Alberta.
I saw one at southcentre mall a few years back and it looked nothing like the one in the link. At the time I had no idea what it was. Other people also stopped to look and had no idea what it was. The one I saw was flat and green. and it was maybe 4 cm long. I would assume different types come from different parts of the world in food shipments.

My in-law works in Public health. I was a little disappointed it took him 7 years to tell me about this site. We were going to order from a place no had been and he asked me if I had checked AHS inspection site.
You can find globefish kennsington in the second link.

when I eat at an Asian establishment (which is semi-regularly) I simply accept that there will be unspeakable things in the back room or kitchen. a small price to pay for tasty morsels on a bed of noodles or rice.
just don't sit near or facing the kitchen door, so that when it swings open you don't accidentally catch any glimpse of the grease encrusted chaos inside.

Might be the best time to go actually. Kinda like how going to the Empire state building after that shooting was the best time as there was increased security and less people.

Just checked Chicken on the Way and it looks like the inspectors were allowed in the basement.

Girlfriend and I ate at the Macleod Trail location a week before Halloween and we both had the ####s for a full day afterwards.

I don't get it, nor do I get the change of thread title.
It was my go-to place. I certainly won't be going back to Globefish.

Ate there on Sunday. I painted the walls in the lavatory before I left, I doubt there is a correlation between this and that.

If a cockroach eats a digested cockroach does that count as cannibalism?
Unless you mean literally painting the walls.

I live close to this location and will likely continue to dine there so long as they pass inspection. Ironically, the next year will likely be the *best* time to eat there as serious restauranteurs (as I believe the owners of Globefish are) will be quite paranoid about not making a second mistake.
That said, Globefish could use a bit of a reality check. Their prices lead the city. The rolls have decreased in quality - often mine are unevenly cut and don't seem as fresh as they used to be. Quantity has definitely decreased, I cringe at how small the fish slice on nigiri sushi has become.
Hopefully they focus on the quality and value that they used to be known for. Expanding to three locations definitely compromised their quality, hopefully by focusing on the basics they can recover.

The quality at globefish was on its way downhill after they made their initial expansion on 14th.

Look up Sushi BBQ Inn on 16th. They had a huge list a couple years ago, or search CP I posted it back then.
