Have two leopard geckos myself. Fun little pets, very gentle and don't mind being handled. Mine will even 'cuddle' from time to time instead of seeking escape.

But after 9 years I'm getting extremely tired of dealing with the crickets, which I find a total PITA. It's like I have to keep 30 nasty little pets that require good care and feeding before I can offload the little buggers to my nice pets. When my 2 geckos pass on I won't be looking at getting more. Bindare Dundat.

I feel the same way. After years of frogs and lizards I am so done with crickets. The last of my frogs died about a year or so ago and just about every day (when I feed my fish) I am thankful I don't have to deal with crickets. And its not just when you get them home - every week you have to go buy them, hope the pet store isnt out of them (especially after that disease wiped them all out), drive to another store if they are, etc.

A couple times I had male crickets get into the walls and they just about drove me insane with the chirping. For weeks, ugh. I started feeding my frogs one cricket at a time to ensure no more crickets escaped, that took forever.

I've only had a male cricket escape once. Ended up behind the entertainment console, underneath the heat registrar, and then tucked under the end of the carpet. Took me 3 sleepless nights to kill that little #######. Can't imagine weeks of that!

Anyway, back on topic for the OP, do your research on care and feeding. Love the leopard geckos but they are long-lived for reptiles (~15 years or so with proper care) and of course they won't eat a bowl of carrots. I don't know much about the beardies, but I do know they will go for veggies (I think moreso after they mature?) or pellets.

Crickets poop a suprising amount too. You're not just cleaning the lizard cage, you're cleaning whatever you keep the crickets in a fair bit as well.

Maybe you should just get some pet crickets, you could breed them and sell them to all these lizard owners.
