For Toronto? The Dome is an albatross, I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.

Sorry, but to even imply that the league will be directing the officials to favor the Argonauts is crazy. I don't understand how moon or anyone else could watch the CFL if they feel that this level of corruption existed.

Think about it. It would only take one official to talk to the media and the CFL would be dead if this was true. It wouldn't be worth it for the CFL.

The fact the Stamps beat the Lions with only a couple of penalties against them would go against your conspiracy theories. There was a couple of close calls that could have went against the Stampeders if the officials were directed/pressured to help the Lions.

P.S: Elvis is dead, 9/11 was not a inside job and the Americans did land on the moon.

I used to be a season ticket holder, tried to make GCs in the West, watched all CFL games Stamps or not and bought a ton of merchandise.

Now I haven't been to a game in over two years, watch games if I am working on computer but don't mind missing Stamps games and only watched parts of second half yesterday and watched more NFL than GC during the Grey Cup last year.

That is all due to horse crap calls I have seen in this league. So while I still follow and watch the league my enjoyment and care about the league has been greatly diminished by the biased actions of the league towards certain teams.

The CFL is small enough and in debt to Braley enough that I could see fishy things happen like we have seen with calls for the Riders in the past.

If the CFL has a conspiracy to support the Riders, why do they only have 3 Grey Cups in 100 years? I see no evidence (other than anecdotal) that there is actual bias. Incompetence is another issue.

I do t think the Riders have been the darlings of the CFL for any more than the past 10, maybe 15 years.

If the CFL doesn't have a bias towards them how is it they get so many more bogus calls going their way including reviews which can't be blamed on speed of the game or tough to get a good view?

Either way this isn't really on topic so I will say hopefully there is no funny business so we can see the Stamps kick the crisp out of a very mediocre to bad Argos team.

^a few reviews have been questionable yes, but if you barely watch it anymore, do you really think you have a good grasp on the officiating at this moment in time in the CFL? do you think things are always static? I guess you can watch the Grey Cup because Sask isn't in it right? or is the league biased against every other team? anything that goes against the Stamps is a conspiracy right?
I will be very surprised if there is funny business, as the CFL is trying to show that it is big time in Toronto with the 100th Grey Cup

So that explains officials not only being paid off, but being paid off handsomely enough to keep their mouths shut for eternity?

The idea that the league is instructing it's officials to favor a particular team is ludicrous.

A few points:

1. Yes the league is biased towards certain teams. Examples include:
  • Braley owning two teams, and magically one of his teams, the Argos, get Ricky Ray for the 100th Grey Cup year in the most ludacris trade that any fan with a brain would never had made had they been the Eskimos GM. Further proof that this was rigged was Toronto's inexplicable releasing of then-leading rusher Cory Boyd that was picked up by surprise, surprise the Eskimos. The fact that the Eskimos released Boyd after Messem came back from the NFL is irrelevent.
  • Eskimo AJ Gass getting his suspension overturned by an 'impartial' judge who happened to be an Eskimos season ticket holder
  • Eskimos getting to trade Jason Maas to Hamilton for a needed running back Troy Davis, while getting to keep Maas's services for the playoffs
2. That bias realistically can only really happen at the Executive level off the field though. As many have stated earlier, it would be too easy for it to come out from officials that they were instructed or guided towards favoring one team or another. Often the officials are just straight up not that professional and bad calls on any team are possible. It's easy to percieve it as bias coming through, but in reality it's just blown calls. Therefore in the Grey Cup I expect the Stamps to win or lose based on what they and the Argos do on the field as opposed to forces outside of the teams on the field consciously working against them.

As for Rider pandering. I think that only happens at the marketing level and for obvious reasons. If the Riders were treated as any other team by TSN or the league in their promotion of the league then they would be leaving money on the table and might actually risk alienating Rider fans (who are quick to devolve into a 'Little old us vs. the world' dichotomy whenever a CFL discussion occurs that doesn't include the Riders).

For someone who claims to watch only "parts of games" or if you're "working on the computer" you spend an awful amount of time in CFL threads yammering on about how terrible Tate and Glenn are and how great Burris is/was.

Conspiracy...no, incompetence...probably.

I will say for as much grief as CFL refs receive (and plenty of it is justified), I thought both games were well officiated yesterday. Obviously, I didn't like the Price call (pretty sure he extended the ball over the goal line prior to his knee hitting the turf), but aside from that, the refs in both games did a fine job.

Here's hoping the crew for the Grey Cup can be unnoticeable due to some fine work.

That price call wasn't his fault though. even on replays it was hard to be conclusive. The fault was with TSN and the league for not having a camera on the goal line. Can't really blame the refs there.

They did an awesome job yesterday.

No I really don't spend that much time talking about that at all.

The Stamps have been an interesting team to follow this year and Huf seems to have done a great job coaching them. Hopefully they can finish off a great season on Sunday.
