Stamps will make an announcement on Tate after practice! It is not a concussion! It is not good! #CFL #CalStampeders
I remember Dunigan saying at halftime that Tate's passes seemed to be missing a bit of zip on them. Given how amped up he probably was, who knows when Tate may have injured it.

Crap, I don't have much confidence in Glenn beating the Lions. I thought Tate would give us a better chance.

Lewis to donate game cheque from the West Final to the Calgary Women's Shelter:

Lewis, 30, will donate his paycheque from Sunday's CFL West final to the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter and the team says it will match the contribution to the organization.

Well, it's been a fun year.... If drew Tate is going to be a band aid like this for the rest of his career, it's in BLM to do everything he can in the next two seasons to prove he can start in this league.
I will hope for the opposite, but there is no way I see this team beating the lions with Glenn at the helm.

Meh, sure, a healthy, prepared Tate is better then Glenn.
Fact is last week, he didn't look 100% healthy, and didn't look anywhere near comfortable with being back in sync with the offense.
He had a horrid first half, and then just started chucking it the second half. A couple toss ups to recivers standing, having outjump the DB (Arthur TD, one on the last drive), and then bombs (Romby on the last and second last drive (which was incomplete)) and overthows as well. That plan, if repeated this time, may not work as well against BC, and/or on a field that isn't as slick as McMahon was last week.
Glenn was the QB for 10 of the Stamps 13 wins this season and is basically the best backup in the league, and although the style is different, doesn't give the Stamps that much less of a chance over last week's version of Tate...Calgary winning will still be a result of BC shooting themselves in the foot in untimely circumstances, with Glenn or Tate at QB.

Sad, but true. I'm not willing to write him off by any means, but he's not a big guy to start with. He was a quick healer with his shoulder, but compared to a guy like Kevin Glenn (who has stayed healthy throughout his career), he's definitely closer to Buck on the durability spectrum...

I agree with browna. I should also point out that while Glenn has a reputation as someone who can't win the big game, it has to be noted that this year's Calgary Stampeders team is better than any of the Hamilton or Winnipeg teams that he was on that lost big playoff games. Heck In 2007 he beat the Als and the Argos to reach the Grey Cup before breaking his wrist at the end of the East Final. To be fair to him we don't know how he would have faired against the Riders in the Grey Cup.
Also echo the statement that the winner of the game will be determined based on how rusty and/or arrogant BC is. If they prepare methodically and respect the Stamps they will most likely win the game under any scenario. If BC comes out and looks past this game they're likely to find a way to lose.

Tate really is a fragile dude. Any hit he takes seems to do damage.

Injury happened sometime during the third quarter:
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=409551
Quote:
Tate says the injury happened in the third quarter of Sunday's game. It's the latest setback in an injury-plagued campaign for Tate, who missed 14 games in the regular season with a shoulder injury.
"One door closes. Another opens and the opportunity is now Kevin's," Tate said. "Kevin will take advantage of it and I think our team will respond.
"I guess 2012 just wasn't my year."

^^^ I actually didn't think the hit was that bad, or had malice in it, it was just one of those sports moments.
Just a sign of our times in sports I guess. Dunno if I like it, but I do understand it. I think we may have gone too far back in the other direction. But I can't be too upset as it's all meant to keep the players safe. It would probably be impossible to have a 'happy medium'.

I normally cheer for the Stamps just to piss off my BC friends but I just can't with Tate being the QB. That guy is a little too annoying for my liking.

I agree with browna and Cowboy89, not sure it makes much of a difference right now. If Tate had played the majority of the season, than yeah, sure. In fact, I was one of those that felt Glenn should have started the semi-final. Not cause I don't like Tate, I love him! But he just looked out of step in the game before, and that he was trying to force it too much. Just needed more time to get to know the offense and for the offense to get to know him I felt.
As far as Calgary's chances go, I don't believe BC has to shoot themselves in the foot for Calgary to win. They are of course the favorite, and I believe the best team in the league. But a big game by Cornish and the special teams could win it for us I think. If the D is solid or gets some turnovers, and the receivers don't drop the balls it'll be close.
It's the CFL folks, really any game could go any way.
I still think it's a close game, within a field goal, no matter who wins.

The QB was always going to be the 3rd most important guy behind Cornish and Lewis whether it was Tate or Glenn so not a huge blow.
Tate seems to be able to come up with the big play better than Glenn but also has some very poor plays as well. Glenn likely will need more help from the other skill positions but is not a big drop off from Tate (if a drop off at all considering the rust.)
