Fair enough. I noticed my car (the Elantra that actually started the controversy) wasn't getting the mileage that I anticipated but I always assumed that it was my driving style that was the problem. I'm glad that Hyundai was called out on it and ultimately that action was taken.

I got my info from this report http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/stor...undai-gas.html which didn't mention the lawsuit. It seemed like an honest mistake based on the report that I had read. Apparently, that may not have been the case.

This reminds me of the class action lawsuit against Honda for the odometers giving the wrong readings. They were supposed to reimburse unnecessary maintenance stemming from this. I know it was fairly significant for me, because my Civic driving through those odometer test areas on Highway 1 and 2 would be off by 100m in 5km. That adds up in a hurry. Wonder if that ever went through.
