The A's will not exercise Drew's 10 million dollar option, instead, they have let him go to free agency but both sides are interested in signing a new deal.

Swisher, Kuroda, Soriano, Upton, LaRoche, Bourn, Hamilton and Lohse all declined qualifying offers today. All are now free agents.

David Ross signs in Boston for two years at a total of $6.2 million. He basically doubled what he made in Atlanta over four years. With Brian McCann injured to start the year (roughly 2-4 weeks). Atlanta will be in need of a backup catcher/starter for the season as Christian Bethancourt likely needs another year in the minors.

Dodgers win the bidding for Japanese LHP Ryu Hyun-Lin. Have 30 days to sign him and likely takes them out of Kuroda sweepstakes.

It may, but I wouldn't be so sure about that. Dodgers are going big, big....big payroll. The Yankees West - think big and be bold apparently: http://espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove12/st...w-york-yankees

Could be worse than the Yankees - they just concluded an enormous TV contract.

We're talking about one of the most humongous local TV deals in the history of any sport -- a deal baseball people expect to be so rich that it's possible just one season of it could pay the entire quarter-billion-dollar tab from that Red Sox blockbuster. Quite a concept.

The Dodgers can not be considered a darkhorse for anyone. They could literally get the top 5 FA's and it wouldn't be a surprise

Rays apparently are number 1 on the hunt for Upton! Excited if we cant ditch the bad Upton for the good one! I wouldn't even mind having both if BJ can continue to hit jacks like last year

Although is sure doesn't sound like BJ Upton is going back to TB - that would be a nice mix of speed/power if somehow they could land both Upton's. However doubtful with their payroll limits

Scott Baker has signed with the Cubs - an arm I would have like the see the Jays in on for their 4th/5th starter. Low risk/dollars, potential high reward arm... Was just coming off Tommy John - so he would have fit right into our rotation.

Good offseason to be a relief pitcher. League and Affeldt both have cashed in huge.

Lots of Josh Hamilton to the Phillies rumors. Makes sense for a lot of reasons

Looks like Torii Hunter is close to signing with Detroit. Sounds like 2 years, 26 million.

And Dickey wins the NL Cy Young. Apparently Price barely beat out Verlander in the AL voting, but Dickey won by a fairly large margin in the NL.
