I remember 10 years ago when you could go down to Seattle for the weekend and fill up for around a $1/gal.

Damn Obama!

Yes, and here, as gas approached .60¢/litre, we were reminiscing about ten years before that when gas was .40¢/litre !

I remembered when gas came down to under $1/L (It was actually 0.999/L) in 2008, I was really excited...

Then gas went down to $0.699/L in December and I was even more excited. Too bad we're unlikely to reach those prices ever again.

Playing the I remember fuel prices game, one of my favorite pastimes.

I remember when I started driving, about 1995, gas was often 39.9 cents/L due to price wars.

I also remember in high school, my parents bought a propane van and propane was between 2.9 and 6.9 cents a litre.

Yep I was a part time gas jockey in Edmonton going to NAIT around '96 ..I remember having to change our price signs constantly like 3-4 times a shift in the midst of that gas war....When I was told to put it under 20 cents/L , like the true company man that I was at the time I waited until the neighboring gas stations changed theirs first to avoid the rush then matched theirs.
It was crazy how long of lines people were willing to wait in to save 1 cent per liter.

That even more true today.
I've seen people drive 3 times the distance of their normal gas station to save 2 cents a litre. When all is said in done you maybe save a dollar or two.

In Grande Prairie the Costco is usually 8 cents cheaper than everywhere else. Premium is even more of a discount. I figure it is worth filling up there to save $5 but still only if I am going by.

I haven't driven regularly in so long that I thought gas prices were still around $1/L.

I'll be in for a rough time when I need to drive for work in the winter.
