I think it was a sportsmanship miss

not just so Europe would have an outright victory, but so his buddy Stricker wouldn't feel so bad/take all the heat

Looks like it's high time the USA went to a younger team. The old guard is looking just that --OLD. The stars at the top are turning over --USA needs to flip the page too.

Possibly.. Furyk and Striker were the old Captain's picks?

But when the Americans are up 10-6 and they send out

Watson - Masters Champ
Simpson - US Open Champ
Bradley - on fire and 2011 PGA Champ
and FIGJAM as their first 4 guys.. hard to think they would all lose.

absolutely ridiculous that the best player in history going out last in what was expected to be a pointless round.

Tiger has 14 majors. The rest of the field combined has 14 majors. Tiger against anyone of Poulter, Mcilroy, or Donald would have been a better choice. You put experienced vets at the front in the important rounds where they can handle the pressure.

That was probably a reaction from the 2010 Cup when Hunter Mahan was the last man for the US, up against McDowell, who was fresh off a major win. If I remember correctly, in the post match team interview, someone (possibly Stewart Cink) said that Mahan volunteered to be the last man, whereas no one else did. Putting Woods out there at no.12, had Furyk or Mickelson or Simpson not crumbled, with the Ryder Cup in his hands, could have been a master stroke from Love III. Too bad it didn't work out.
