I remember Colours and even some of the Watefront units featured the windowless bedrooms. So does University City going up at Brentwood.

Was just gonna mention this. The 2 bedrooms homes at Colours, where neither room has windows has to be one of the worst floor plans I've ever seen.

just out of curiosity, how much they are saving by not having a window?

Pretty much all the major developers have been doing this for years.... they've just been calling them 'dens' as opposed to bedroom on the plans.

To me there's no saving. What you don't pay for now, you won't get back when you sell the condo later. Your initial cash outlay is lower and hence your mortgage interest is lower.

Oh, these will have no problem selling, regardless of future resale. People are idiots like that, they want as much as they can get for as little cost as possible and without any forethought for the future implication;, hence you have things like this, or houses directly on the C-train line in the NE, or giant sprawl outwards with no limit, etc.
Its a problem of our society as a whole nowadays, directly mirrors consumer debt and spending habits; people want everything now.

I don't think people are buying 120K Pointe of View condos because they are trying to live some life of perceived luxury - it's because they are affordable. Be it to live in or for rental, there is a need for housing that costs less that $400K in this city. As such, there have to be sacrifices in what is included.
If you don't want a bedroom w/o a window, then don't look at these units, or don't use the room w/o a window...
If you need to live somewhere on $750 a month budget, then perhaps this is a better option than a Forest Lawn basement suite.

It wouldn't be my first choice. My washroom doesn't have a window, and I fell asleep in the bathtub drunk once.

Whether or not some bedrooms have no windows, have to be shared with a family of alligators or have wallpaper with a nude Roseanne Barr pattern, it wouldn't even come close to being the worst part about living in one.
The worst part, by far, is that it is located in Kincora.

Here's a no-window condo near downtown Calgary that's a bit of a fixer-upper but the location is great and you can't beat the $255/month cost (heat included):

Really common in DC where rowhouses are split into condos and the party walls obviously don't allow windows on more than two side of the building. I would avoid them like the plague. On MLS here, there is no specific listing for "den," so you'll see a lot of listings for 2 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms that turn out to be 1+den, 2+den... It definitely annoyed the wife and I during our housing search.
What is really annoying is that many of the listings try to get gull value from the windowless bedroom. I'm sorry, not a real bedroom should = not full price of the equivalent in real bedrooms.
