It's not apples and oranges though, Sierra Morena Blvd handles more than 20K cars per day because of people cutting through the neighborhood and it gets just as crazy and backed up on snow/ice days on that road as well. Sure people could go through 17th->Sarcee, or Glenmore->Sarcee, but it's a lot more convenient and quicker to cut through.

I can appreciate being angry at others cutting through your community, but it's a tough position to argue when you do the exact same thing in order to save time.

I go through Sierra Morena Blvd. to access Westhills. That is a legitimate access that was designed as such. The traffic circle and how it operates with right of ways, was never designed to have people do a 360 and pop out the other side. It negates the whole purpose of a traffic circle and renders all other users helpless. That is why I think it's apples and oranges.

Would you suburbanites stop fighting each other and save your energy for when we get another fancy bridge in the inner city.

I would very strongly consider purchasing a home in Disco Ridge.

Never. You're just jealous because your neighbourhood's nickname is Lake Bonervista.

Sierra Morena Blvd handles more than 20K cars

Planners could not have envisioned what a bottleneck that little intersection would become. Property values around there must have plummeted with the constant traffic jam.

I would also say this is very different. We looked at Sierra before Discovery. One quick look at a map shows you a neighbourhood directly in between West hills/ Signal Hill centre and many suburbs. Now with that huge Aspen whatever, I cannot imagine living near Sierra Morena.

On the other hand Discovery (with one quick look at a map) has one side bordered by the river and a provincial park, the other by Glenmore Trail. One of the many attractions was that there was no chance of having through traffic.

One of the plans I saw for Glenmore/Sarcee interchange showed a second entrance for West Hills in between 69th and Sarcee. That would certainly help Sierra/Signal neighbourhoods, especially traffic from Discovery/Elbow valley.

But anytime I come down 69th st heading towards Discovery, I see a large number of cars turning left onto Sierra Morena. They surely are a bigger concern than cars from discovery.

I usually take Glenmore to get to Westhills, but anytime I am on Sierra Morena I feel sorry for people who live there.

To expect Springborough or Springbank Hills residents to take the highway to Westhills...I think that is crazy.
