From downtown to Golden where the Coors brewery is located is a solid 30 minute drive. Without a car that's like a 5 hour walk, probably not worth it for the three free small beers you get at the end.

Crave isn't terrible, get the Luther though. Mmm, donut hamburger.

Anyone else here find downtown Denver more like Edmonton than Calgary? I found the downtown to be just as deserted and sketchy after dark. I stayed at the Hilton near that 16th street mall. Some said it was like Stephen Ave but honestly the place was just full of fast food places and crack heads.

I never did a football game, but I would suggest not staying where I did. It wasn't a very good place, and I found like Edmonton the downtown area is varied from not so nice to worse. The ride in and out to the airport is almost exactly like Edmonton.

Not trying to rain on any parades but I would rather a Seattle or San Fran or even Portland sports trip to Denver. I just didn't find the downtown to be very nice at all.

I thought their downtown was very similar, if not better, than Calgary. I stayed at the Grand Hyatt and we walked around everywhere downtown including to and from the Pepsi Centre (actually we used the free 16th street shuttle.)

There was a lot more people and activity around 16th late into the evening than in Calgary. 16th and surrounding streets offered a lot more options for food and drinks than downtown Calgary.

Driving towards downtown did feel a bit sketchy though. We used Brighton and Broadway because that seemed to be the easiest way to get to the east end of downtown where the Hyatt is and the areas that we drove through felt pretty rough.

Pretty good overall. If I remember correctly it had a slightly odd lobby and weirdly hidden elevators. They were doing some renovations when I was there. The gym and pool were pretty poor. I didn't use any of the food/beverage facilities.
