I'm sure everyone is hoping for that. I'm also assuming that you're going to see a drop in movie attendance because of this.

Thankfully the 3 month old is in fair condition and the 6 year old victim is doing alright as well.

I can not believe this.
4 hours ago I was complaining that I couldn't catch the midnight screening, two hours later... I found my dog laying in the middle of our yard, dead, and now this happened
This is the most ####ed up night of my life. I'm grieving with the 14 families right now. Life is so fragile and tragic at times

Really?
I'm all for gun control, but the story here is about a heartless psycho, not a gun culture.

Unbelieveable, just senseless and disgusting. Do they need armed guards at every damn public event?

It's far too early to start grinding any politicial axes. I think it's unfortunate the way some people (and this is not necessarily a shot at you) use tragedies like this one to nurse their own pet theories on crime, which causes people to lose sight of what is really important.

"Batman Movie Massacre" is what CNN has dubbed it.

I'm not trying to grind political axes, I own guns myself, its the ease which these psychos get guns in the states that's scary.

Mass shootings, while not commonplace in the States, certainly seem to be hovering around the two dozen plus mark since the past number of years. I think it's a symptom of something -- though I of course can't qualify that -- and while individuals are likely psychotic to one degree or another, there just seems like there should be something fundamental to it all. I'm not sure if it's necessarily guns -- which, when readily available, do enable killings en mass to happen with greater ease, but, really, it being the root cause of it would just be guessing on my part.
If anyone has any interesting studies done about this, link them.

Also, I don't want to lose sight of the human tragedy, but who takes a 3 month old to any movie, let alone a midnight screening? Holy disregard for other patrons.

Some moviegoers said they thought the attack was part of the show. Then they saw a silhouette of a person in the smoke at the front of the theatre, pointing a gun at the crowd.
"I told my friend, 'We've got to get out of here,' but then he shot people trying to go out the exits," Jennifer Seeger told NBC's "Today." She the shooter made his way up the aisle, shooting as he went, saying nothing.
Some of the injured were children, with the youngest a 3-month-old baby. Victims were being treated for chemical exposure apparently related to canisters thrown by the gunman. The shooter, a man in his 20s, was arrested shortly after the midnight attack near a car outside the multiplex theatre in Aurora.

This is unfair. Mental health problems exist everywhere, and that's what caused this. Oslo taught us that nowhere is immune to insanity.
I honestly think it will tough to watch this movie in a theatre now. I'll spend the entire time wondering at what point the gunman came in.

To be quite honest, my first question was "How did he manage to get them all into the theatre"?. Wouldn't someone notice if you had that many guns on you at once? ESPECIALLY 3 guns that you couldn't exactly hide well...
I'm wondering if he forced his way in...
Occam's razor suggests though that nobody saw him walk in.

I agree with both of you. As you say, Oslo showed that it can happen anywhere (as if Ecole Polytechnique and Dunblane didn't already do that). However, it is also clear that the US has a ridiculously high prevalence of these kinds of crimes. Honestly, I can't say that I'm truly shocked that this happened for this very reason.

People probably thought he was in 'costume' for the premiere.
