CTV has published her resignation speech

"I am saddened to announce that having been caught with my hand in the taxpayers pocket so often that even my party has toild me to stop spending the peoples money.
My advisors have made it clear there is no more dosh to be had staying in parliment and I am entitled to more money if I retire than I can steal, oh sorry that should read 'spend on important goverment business', it is therfore with great sadness I announce I will not be running in next years election"

bobblehead - i get what you are saying - in order to induce presumably qualified folks to run for public office, you need to offer up some goodies.

it just grinds my gears, that in addition to her $16 dollar glass of OJ - she'll be entitled to an extremly lucrative government pension and possibly a golden parachute. if i opted to quit my job, i'd get no such parachute........

as an aside, i also belieive that the MP's pension plan is "illegeal" in the context that no private company could offer a similar plan.
