Sorry Fire, but outside Alberta, this is not the sole standard a person's legacy is measured by. Money isn't everything.

Remember that for all the cozy relationships with big oil, and the hack and slash budgets, he caused some real pain to a lot of average Albertans.

The guy blew up a hospital, and partially as a result, caused many of the issues you see today with our system. I have a sick brother, and the garbage he has had to endure because of Ralph's money first policy gets to me.

I do give him credit for sticking around in Alberta during his current illness. Two of the things he had little time for, health care and long term disabled care, are the very things he will be depending on for the rest of his life. However, I highly doubt his room will be in a hallway, or lobby like my brother, or that doctors will flat out ignore him while he is in visible pain because they are over burdened to the max.

So I'll back out by saying, congrats Ralph. Unlike you in your prime, I won't kick a disadvantaged man while they are down (homeless shelter and AISH incidents). Enjoy your award, and I hope you have comfort and happiness in whatever happens here on out.

Step 1: blow up hospital.
Step 2: recieve Order of Canada.

Somewhere in the middle east, a terrorist is confused.

I hope he had good relationships with big oil, they were the big reasons why he could eliminate the debt.

To balance the budget you have to make sacrifices. So sorry that you didn't feel coddled enough. Maybe Quebec is more to your liking.

No respect for him. Personal investment reasons which I do not wish to mention.

My favorite Ralph moment was when he said he'd pay any hobo his bus ticket fare outta here. Ahh, good times!

Ralph did some good things and some bad things in his time in office. I wasn't his biggest fan and I do think he left the province with some major challenges, but no politician can do everything.

I do think that taking a few potshots is below the belt though. If Ralph were able to defend himself I would be fine with it (and he seemed like a guy who would enjoy the give and take anyway), but to hit a guy who can hit back is just cowardly.

No politicians defend themselves here. Ralph is fair game IMO. Failing health doesn't change his legacy.
