New portable photo radar type

I really wish they'd $#%& off with these photo radar things. They don't do anything to actively slow people down.


On the subject of detectors: I only keep Ka enabled in the city, and X/K/Ka enabled on the highway. False alarms on the highway are few and far between, certainly not enough to them for me to actively throw away data.

I've seen X used on the way to Lethbridge before (Nanton, I believe). X band starts screaming, I slow down and sure enough there's a cop hiding on the side of the road.

There is nothing new about this at all, it seems to be making the rounds on forums and e-mail fowards quite a bit lately for some reason and the info is false.

The boxes were tried in Edmonton way back when I was living there still (I think it was 2005-2006?) but they decided not to use them after that. Strathcona County, which I'm sure is using the box in the photo, is actually scrapping the portable photo radar boxes for uniformed cops after using them for over 10 years.
