I too was wondering about the blue versus black dots thing for pax and cargo.

As far as I am aware the blue and black dots have nothing to do with the job, it just relates to the airport. The bigger the airport the different the colour.

Calgary black, Toronto blue, New York Red.

Do the winning crews share the prize or does everyone get the prize shown?

Is there a FAQ page for this app?

Agreed, merging is a good idea.

If anyone finds an FAQ of sorts for this game please post it! I haven't found much useful info yet.

I tried upgrading Calgary thinking it would mean more jobs but it didn't appear to make much of a difference. Kind of a waste of 12k gold.

Almost have my first airvan now. You really have to watch the market like a hawk or you'll miss parts you need.

Upgrading allows more layover spots and bigger planes. You probably did it a little early but oh well.

Slots are supposed to be hard to buy. Easier to put your low capacity planes in the hangar and/or scrap them, and then put a newer plane in your fleet.

What I did was bought new plains and retired 2 of my single seat ones.

Currently I have 2 Wallaby, 1 Navagator (best earner), 1 Supergopher, 2 Airvans, 1 Griffon.

Is there a disadvantage to layovers? Do you lose money, customer satisfaction?

I don't believe there is customer satisfaction or anything like that.

As for revenue I'm not too sure. I don't think it would make a huge difference though, since if you are doing layovers you are probably having a plane full of people going to the same place so you would get the bonus money.

I haven't done any layovers yet since I am only from Calgary to Quebec and down to Cincinnati

From what I gather layovers gain you lots of cash faster. You get that extra bonus money.

So a way you can do it is use small planes to do short flights to unload to a hub where you can use a larger plane to ferry them to places. This should increase your potential for bigger bucks.

You will also see these dots on the map next to each city. They refer to the class of the airport which is determined by the size of the particular city. A class 1 airport will have a black dot and can only accept class one (smaller) planes. Class 2 airports have a blue dot, are larger and can accept both class 1 and 2 planes. Class 3 airports have a red dot and can accept all classes of planes. Higher class airports not only accept larger planes but they also have more layover spots, more passengers/cargo which want to travel through them and are more expensive to unlock.

Check out the Airpedia for all of the planes and their classes. You can also see an individual plane's class and other stats by clicking on the plane info button (icon with a plane and a magnifying glass). To start with you are only given class 1 planes. As you level up larger planes become available to you.

That's a great idea, thanks for the tip. My empire stretches across Canada (and Detroit) so using layovers will be very helpful with that in mind.

I joined the flight crew last night and played for a few hours. I blew a lot of my original bux upgrading 1 planes range to make it to Calgary on one stop. It's hamstringed me pretty bad.

I think you can reset the game. I did the same thing and was able to start over.

Yes as long as they are the same GameCentre ID but there is a delay. I found it can take about 1-2 minutes before the game will catch up on the new device every time I switch. Works through iCloud, just whatever you do don't start a new game on the second device because it will erase your first one. Found that out the hard way.
