What do you do with old cell phones

There are a number of companies in the UK that pay money for used mobile phones in working (and non-working) order. I'm surprised that there isn't something similar in Canada.

My comment is completely off topic, but that one simple statistic makes me very sad.

I emailed our IS department at the same time that I posted this and they told me they wanted the phones back, so unfortunately I can't send one to SaskFlames or the men's shelter.

We are due for an upgrade soon so I may have dozens of phones lying around and will see if they care if I send a few out.

On a side note, why did IT change to IS? Is it a common thing or just our company?

I have never heard of it being refereed to as IS. Information Systems, I assume?
