"Where did he propose?"
"Chinook"
"Oh."
Thanks for the suggestions all.

This is a quality idea, I hope you can pull it off! Good luck

Agreed. I didn't know how he was going to make the no-mall thing a reasonable part of the equation, but by golly he pulled it off.

Thanks!
So I called the Calgary Tower, and apparently they don't have one.
I'm down to the Airport, or The Unicorn...
Anyone else know of any others?

This would probably be your best bet.
There are several companies that set up photobooths, for cost. some include an actual "booth", whereas some have just a backdrop and a machine that takes photos and prints them instantly.
http://www.calgaryphotobooth.com/
http://calgaryphotobooths.ca/
http://www.hootbooth.com/
http://sillybooth.ca/blog/
http://www.urban-paparazzi.com/
To name a few. There are a few more if you google "calgary photo booth"
Most people rent them for events such as weddings, christmas parties, work parties, etc.
I'm not sure if there are minimum rentals. Be warned, they can be pretty expensive (~$1000) but this would be for 3-4 hours. I'm not sure what they woudl charge for 1 hour or so. Best to contact a few companies and ask around.
Good Luck!

The airport would be nice if you had the budget to then take her somewhere... wouldn't have to be far I'm sure to be effective.

Photo booth proposal, then a dufflebag weekend in Vegas. Just pack 4 pairs of ginch each and a toothbrush and you guys are set.

So am I reading this right... you are going to pop the question just as the photos start snapping, thus being able to catch her reaction instantly?

If you're going to use the photobooth for the proposal, why not book it for the reception. You'll probably get more interest from the owners of the private rental places and it would be pretty cool to have the "actual booth" where you popped the question at the reception to take photos of your guests.
Talk to Robin A. at the first link above, www.calgaryphotobooth.com. I can vouch that she's awesome.

When are you planning this for? I might be able to help if the professional photo booths don't work or you cannot find a proper one to work with.
I just built a life sized Polaroid frame for my wedding in a couple of weeks, I have a heap of props and such as well. If worse comes to worse, I was thinking you could stage a guerrilla photo booth in the park one afternoon... just don't tell her it is all a set up.
Timing is rough for me if this is happening soon, my gear will not be available until late June - depending if it survives my wedding.
So consider this an offer if Plan A goes south.

Thanks! I just found out this evening that her Dad let the cat out of the bag... so I think this plan has just been flushed...
