Beautiful... I keep saying Europe is the place to go instead of Mexico.
My favorites from the photos are Swizterland and Vimy Ridge. I like the history stuff more than the touristy london bridge, big ben... Places like Vimy Ridge really interest me.

Hey, good pics!
Were you on a Contiki Tour then (judging by the buses)??
How was it? Worth the money? Which one did you do?

Wow. I am in awe. I am so envious of you. I'm waiting to finish my degree before I head off and go to Europe. Something to work towards. Only 4 years...but knowing me I'll pansy out and go next summer or summer after that.
Wow.

Are you just starting out on your degree?
I would HIGHLY suggest scraping together all the money you can and travelling as much as possible before finishing, even if it means taking less courses or taking a middle year off. The LAST thing you should do is finish and then travel - employers are going to hire new fresh blood the next year before they hire you, leaving you in the dark. I am sure many disagree but....
I come from nothing (like no parental money) and have managed to travel while still in school and have to say the travelling has taught me a hell of a lot more then University.

Nice shots Neeper - a great demonstration as to composition and the rule of thirds. Are you shooting RAW and doing your own post processing? I don't have the tools at work to look at the EXIF data on your images but what mode were you shooting in and what lenses did you have?
You have some great shots under bad lighting conditions. I'm messing around with RAW on my Rebel XT and find the increased exposure latitude an indispensible asset. Even if it makes for 8MB images.
Great shots, for a Nikon... :P
EDIT: Apparently the hot eurobabes are on the pr0n banners at the top and bottom of the page.... Neeper has to pay for the trip somehow!
|
I shoot only in RAW. I do post process the good pictures to make them standout.
I have my kit lens 18-70 F3.5, 85mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, and 70-300mm.
Those banners have nothing to do with me. I just use that opendirviewer because it's easier than clicking each photo. It was Kevan Guy who told me about that site, so maybe it's his banners.
My site is : www.jtimagesonline.com if anyone is interested. I still have a lot of work to do on that site.
the 1.8 lenses.....those are fast right? and expensive?

OK I just relooked at those and they look almost fake, they are so good. You're sure you didn;t just scan some post cards. I showed them to the wife and she was "you can't take that many good photos on a trip, he must have taken 1800 photos".
Either you are a fraud or a hell of a photographer.
|
I think I'll take that as a compliment. All pictures are mine 100%. I have 49 people (fellow tour people) who can attest to my obsessive habit. I actually took 2400 photos, so your wife is a little off.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can sell my photos? I am quite new to the business. All I know how to do is weddings. I never thought of selling postcard stuff before.
Just curious...how many memory cards were you carrying with you?

Yeah they are faster. Lenses are never cheap.
I was carrying 2 x 1gb cards, plus a 30gb drive for backing up on OTG (on the go).

I agree with the above about Europe, learn more then university, go before graduate ect. I've been there twice and (No offense Neeper) Europe is just plain beautiful. What you see in the photograph is what you see with your own eyes. (However, those artistic shots are gorgous though!)
After returning from my 2nd trip, as kind of a travel journal, I did a pseudo "Guide Book" write up about 20 pages, just for fun, recommending where to go (and where not to go), ranking places by importance, and even have recommended places to go for how long you are there.
I have visited Britain, France, Belgium, Amsterdam, Austria, Germany, Czech Switzerland and Italy. Switzerland was by far my favourite, followed by Italy. I still have yet to see Spane and Greece, and I'd like to spend more time travelling Germany.
For now, though, my university-travel-goal is to backpack through New Zealand or Switzerland. I'd also like to visit South America and South East Asia, but I'd like to do a backpacking trip first. Now I just need some friends that arn't indoor nerds

Wow - amazing pics!! My wife and I got back from Europe 3 weeks ago. Went to Germany, Switzerland and Italy - with a week in each country. I would highly highly recommend a trip to Europe for anyone - it was a wonderful experience!
Places we went to: (Germany) Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Dachau, Fussen, (Switzerland) Ausserberg, Visp, Sienne, Montreaux, Brig, (Italy) Vernazza, Pisa, Florence, Sienna, Rome with a few stops in various places in between.
I'd have to say my favorite place was Berlin - just some amazing history there - and one of the safest cities I've ever been to. Rome was a close second - just way too many cool things to see there in such a short period of time.
I look at our pictures, then I look at Neepers - and his pictures look better than most of our post cards. What an eye!! Very very cool pix!!

Very good photos. I've been to most of the places shown, apart from the Swiss place, and have to say that you've done a great job in presenting them. Neeper isn't kidding a Europe trip is a must imo. Personally I prefer going my own way via Eurail train passes as they are just an awesome experience. When our kids are a little older we'll be doing another month on the trains for sure.
My wife, being a professional photographer, means that when we travel at least half her backpack is taken up with camera gear. It used to be a mixture of 35mm and medium format. Now it will be medium format and high end digital.
Thanks for sharing your photos Neeper. Great job!
