Federal, calgary, na###o all these metal companies will give you low end prices. I used to go to a melter, you take all shapes and sizes then the melter melts in in sheets for you. The machines even strip wire.
I paid a the melter 20 bucks to melt into sheets, usually 8 gauge.
I would usually get about 30-40 sheets from approx 20lbs of copper.
Then I would sell the sheets on kijiji for 20 bucks a sheet usually it was 12 inches by 17..they would go like hot cakes.
The melter(harrys fab shop) is no longer around, either is my side business.
If you can find one, its the best bet.
But if you just want a quick few bucks then the metal yard is the quickest but lowest payout.
PM me for details if you like

JonDuke, there's four places. There's the Copper Hut, that's on third. There's Coppers-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Copper-There. That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the Copper complex on third.
OH! The Copper District!

If you got a truck full its usually better to go to small places outside of the city cause they give a better price the most important ever took back was worth 1700

I prefer Ace Salvage, just a little further North on Ogden Road from Calgary Metal.

Take it to a steel foundry that specializes in cast iron (delburn foundry does). You can sell it there. It's worth a couple hundred/ton.
