And don't be afraid to try out other vacuums. You need to keep up to date on the new features and what the other vacuums would be willing to do for you. If you find something you like that another vacuum will do for you, see if your current vacuum will be able to fulfill your wishes. Do not bring a new vacuum home to where your current vacuum lives. Always go see the other vacuum away from your house.

No need to try out other vacuums. Chrome off of a trailer hitch and golf ball through a garden hose as they say.

If anyone is in the market for any kind of vacuum, I would highly recommend heading to one of the three Vacuum Specialists locations in Calgary (vacuumspecialists.com). Their centre street and 30 avenue location in the NW has probably two dozen different central vacs and at least that many upright and cannister vacuums that you can try out first hand. They also sell commercial grade stuff if you're into that kind of thing. From what I understand they are the only store in town that carries certain brands like Beam as well.

We spent an hour or so with the manager before deciding on an Easy Flo central vac. Based on the research I had done online before heading into the store, we got a pretty smokin' price plus a bunch of extra stuff too (like a bunch of tools and accessories). Guy really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our purchase.

We haven't got it hooked up yet so I can't say for sure how well it works in actual practice but the experience thus far has been pretty good.
