Even if you are not "drunk", you can still blow over and seriously screw yourelf. It's just not worth it.

This is true. Is it really worth the two beers or one beer/hour to take the risk of what could happen?
There are just so many factors involved with alcohol consumption that you can't really predict what your body will do one day to the next.

To be honest, tired drivers and cell phone drivers scare me more then a person with 2-3 drinks.
The worst I've ever done was 1 drink, and the drive was 2 blocks. And that was in Grade 11. Since then, I always thought it was absolute zero tolerance (not this % BS or whatever) and if it were up to me, I'd say cut up the license if its anything more then a breathmint.
But before that, I'd definatly ban cell phone use. Tired drivers... I don't believe there is any way to measure it physically.

In the UK it's a bit further along in terms of drink driving tolerance IMO. There's a real stigma for those that do/try it. About 1 unit and change is the legal limit and the tolerance of the public limit. If you try more than that you might as well kick grannies and puppies. I don't speak from experience of any of those things
I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of that permeate over here. (I'm not being judgemental though)
Anyway, having only passed my canadian lisence for a little over a year, I got that pesky graduated lisence that has 0 tolerance blood alchohol level and they'll take the lisence away. That's fine by me but what if I have a beer in the morning, and go out at 11.00 at night and there's still a trace do they rip it up then?
I just don't drink if I drive period and probably follow that even if i could have one or two.

WTF are you talking about? If he felt he didn't think he could or should drive he did the right thing. What gives Mr. Nolte?

Not sure what beer you're drinking if 12+ hours later there's still traces of a single beer in your blood stream.

With myself it is usually nothing, or very close to nothing. Probably the most I have ever had was 1.5 shots over the course of 5 hours and then drove.

I'm saying the guy must be a women or weigh about 60 pounds. Two beers and he's losing it for an hour. What gives Flamer?

I completley agree. That is not what I'm trying to say. In fact, it is more in jest, but I read all this righteous crap and it makes me sick. Two beers, give me a drink. Nothing agianst Buff, just seems like he might be wearing panties.

I think your comments are highly unnecessary. If he didn't want to drive, I applaud his actions. Who cares what you think. He didn't want to break the law and possibly screw up his life, and you are critisizing him for that?

Well let's see, my general rule is 2 drinks spread over the night with water mixed in. If I have anything more then 2 in essentially a span of 3 hours I will give my keys to a sober friend.
And usually eat greasy before and after the club, especially if driving.....I'm a pretty big guy, so I don't think I'm anywhere NEAR imparement after that.

while I can drink, and can pound them back, I won't drive after one. Tollerence and Blood Alcohol Level are two different things. I'm a very small fellow (6'2 and WWE's Batista is just shy of weighing 3 times my weight) so I don't know where one puts me, I won't risk it, not worth it.

If I drove I won't have more than 2, and I will give it at least 30 minutes after the last drink before I hop into the car. I usually only drive after dinner drinks, if I know I'm gonna be drinking anywhere else I won't be driving.
btw to clarify, Alberta's laws are zero tolerance for new drivers (GDLs) and regular legal limit (0.08) for fully licenced drivers.

If I'm driving, I'll drink one and then call it quits, unless a few hours go by.
