I was going to say I kind of feel bad about this statement since EXO is just a rebranding.... then I ran a speed test, this is on BB50

I guess it's time to call Shaw, again, about the same problem that was supposed to be fixed a month ago. If I run the same test early tomorrow morning I will get download around 45 and up around 5.

I have BB100 and when pulling from usenet I get 11MB/sec most times.

I have BB100. The website must have been updated recently, when I signed up the upload was advertised as 5Mbps and that's what I get now.

Maybe they haven't rolled out the changes to 10 yet? Or one has to call in maybe.

At work I hit 4.3-4.7 up with regularity on BB50. Recently, at home, I have only been getting about 2.87 up.

Why do you guys need 80+ Mbps download? I can understand why 5+ Mbps upload is deserable, especially for work purposes if you have large files, but I don't see the necessity for these massive download speeds. What do you guys download that you need that bandwidth for?

I don't upload anything at home, so i'm content with what I have. I'm also apparently supposed to be getting a free upgrade on Tuesday as I described above, but maybe that has already happened.

Most people don't really need a massive download speed like that. Actually, no one really NEEDS it but it sure is nice to have. As a gamer with a decent sized library of games, most of which get patched with some regulairty, it's nice when you have a 1 gig patch to download to have a fat connection. I only had the 25 mbps down and that suited me just fine really but getting bumped up to 50BB at no cost to me was freakin awesome.

I don't need anything more than about 15-20 MBit/s, but I do need more bandwidth, which is why I first upgraded to Warp (and now BB50).

edit: Just to clarify, I needed more total monthly bandwidth, not speed.

Also, if they are offering an advertised speed I expect to be able to reach at least within 10mbps of it, that doesn't seem too unreasonable. Getting 10mbps when I'm paying for 50 is completely unacceptable.

I forgot about the bandwidth caps on Shaw now. I don't think I go anywhere near the max, but I could see needing extra for some people. And yeah, I can also see the issue with platforms like steam. Wanting to play a game, oh but wait, you first have to install this patch before you can play.

Just upgraded to BB50, it's fast enough for me.
Currently uploading a tonne of data to Crashplan and it went from 50 days remaining down to 6.

Going from 450 Kbps to 2.7 - 3 Mbps for upload speeds through my laptop via the new WiFi router, is quite the jump.

I do get faster speeds on my wired desktop (obviously).
