After switching from a blackberry to Android I'm loving it so far, ive rooted my nexus and now am just looking for a good custom ROM to install. Being a newb im not too sure where to look, i can find lots of lte ROMS but since im on telus i need a GSM/HPSA version. Any advice as to which is the best or where to look?

Even for Exchange accounts?
That would be crazy annoying to have multiple clients.

To be honest, I'm not sure since my only email account is my Gmail. But I'm sure there's some sort of workaround.

Look for your phone's subforum:

I had a Blackberry prior to Galaxy Nexus and have not used Android before ICS. My intention had been to get an iPhone, but retentions gave me $100 off any non-iPhone plus I was disappointed that Apple had come out with an S model rather than a "new" phone.
My random impressions so far (Bell, stock ICS, three weeks since I got it):
- The screen rotation issue was already mentioned. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
- I got used to the size, but I am 6'3". As big as it is, the phone would feel too light for me without the case.
- I now get reception in more than one corner of my house. This was probably Bell's CDMA signal issue in the past, though.
- Updates are provided by Samsung, not Google, apparently.
- Battery life is OK. My screen is on auto brightness, no WiFi, no NFC, no Bluetooth. Light browser use, some YouTube, and 5-6 short phone calls (<2min) allow me more than 24 hours use between charges.
- Samsung has a terrible product registration page.
- I used face unlock once then switched to swipe.
Overall, I am satisfied, but will be watching what Apple does next. A slightly larger screen plus a few tweaks and I will probably consider getting an iPhone.

Okay, I just upgraded to the Nexus.
Initial impressions (non-rooted out of the box from Bell)
- This phone is incredibly thin and light. The plastic backing that comes off to get to the battery is a very slim piece of plastic, but is a little tough to put back on
- Notification light is a slow blinking white dot at the bottom end of the display.
- Buttons are very nice, overall design feels almost minimalistic
- Screen is vibrant and has great resolution
- Face unlock is gimmcky, but it's neat to show people. Will test it out on similar looking Asian friends to see if it can be fooled. If it doesn't recognize the face, it switches to pattern or PIN unlock
- Camera takes instant pictures, but will need to carefully focus a shot if you want to take better pictures. Definitely a lot to be desired and a definite minus.
- Newest feature is the replacement of a dedicated menu button with a multitask button. Pressing the multitask button brings up a list of active applications and you can switch to or close applications from there.
- Not a fan of People, the new "contact" application. Not compatible with Facebook
- Download and upload speeds noticably faster than the SG1
- Coming from an SG1, I'm glad the power plug in is on the bottom of the phone rather than the top. Opens up more docking capabilities. Power cord is shorter than the SG1 though
- Clunky auto-rotation and agressive auto-brightness
That's it for now. Ask me anything about the phone and I'll do my best to answer

Update #2:
- If someone looks enough like me, like my co-worker, Facial unlock can be fooled.

for anyone considering custom roms. go thru xda dev site. and lookup modaco, it works great for me.
one issue I have had the entire time with my phone is often picture/vid texts don't download to my phone. they just stay greyish and give an error

Touchdown is by far the best exchange mail client for Android, or any phone really. blows Blackberry out of the water, the only downside is the price ($20 in the market). but after trying it and seeing just how powerful it is (you can try it free for 30 days) i sucked it up and bought a license
