If you're in Calgary I'm pretty sure it is not caused by too high of humidity in your house, gaps would more likely be caused by not enough humidity i.e. shrinking. Check your dishwasher and fridge again (including the pan underneath the fridge (your icemaker could be a red herring) for leakage, it is most likely one of these culprits. Also, if its on the main floor and your basement is undeveloped check the floor joists to make sure sufficient support exists underneath. If you jump on your floor and notice a bouncing it may be that the floor is insufficiently secured or supported.
