Never be late on credit card payments. It's good to arrange auto payment from your chequing account so you can't forget. Refuse those free t-shirts and blankets for a CC. You'd be surprised how many credit checks can be made on you in a year or two. Protect your rating as it's important.

ha, that free blanket idea is why I had to close a unknown (to me) $500 limit credit card account on my credit report from last summer
