Did he mention that review on Facebook last week because it was the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor?

The Simpsons in its first 7-8 seasons was genius television and totally earned all the praise the show received. It's been borderline unwatchable since then, though.

Ditto for Crash. What an absolutely awful film that was -- not merely overrated, but genuinely bad. I have no idea what the academy saw in it.

A pet project I'm thinking of doing over the Christmas break is determining when exactly the Simpsons jumped the shark.

MarchHare is right the first 7-8 seasons were boarderline perfection. In fact I think it was still decent into seasons 9 & 10. I recently picked up seasons 12, and 13... and wow... how the mighty have fallen.

I'm not sure exactly when and in what order these events occurred, but I gave up on the show after:

1. Tomacco
2. Sherry Bobbins
3. Armin Tanzarian
4. Homer was raped by a panda

Also, there was a stretch of several seasons (which is perhaps still going on; I haven't watched the show in years) where it seemed like every other episode existed solely to give a celebrity an opportunity for a guest appearance, not to tell a funny story.

Underrated movie: Fantastic Mr. Fox -- absolutely brilliant, hilarious, witty, beautiful... I understand why it isn't popular, but more people need to at least give it a try. In my top five movies.

Underrated TV: Flashpoint -- one of my very favorite shows that no one ever talks about -- tons of action and suspense, top notch acting, great storylines and characters... if you have ANY inclination to cop shows whatsoever, you need to watch it.

The worlds most overrated TV show still has to be Twin Peaks by a country mile, made worse by the fact Lynch had already made a great film out of the plot then just couldn't leave it alone.

A criminally underrated movie for me is 'The Dish' out of Australia, ditto 'Chopper' Eric Bana's first movie.

Most over-rated tv show ever: Big Bang Theory.

Tried a couple of times to watch it and didn't find it even remotely funny yet people at work rave about it.

I'll add both 'Hangover' movies to the overrated category. Watched the second one with my buddy last night, a few laughs, but similar to the first one it just wasn't that funny. Yet everyone raves about them like they're hilarious.

Lowest common denominator humor.
