the second TV show I can remember following as a kid (Gunsmoke was the first. Yes, I am old). So many great laughs and teary eyed moments from that show. Morgan's work was fantastic. 96 is a pretty awesome lifetime. RIP, Harry.
RIP Harry Morgan (1915-2011). Before he became Col Potter on MASH, Harry Morgan made a guest appearance on the first episode of the 3rd season, playing General Hamilton Steele (three E's not all in a row) He was nominated for an Emmy award based on this episode and caught the eye of the shows producers, the rest is history. This episode always stands out in my mind when I think of Harry Morgan.

I think he pretty much had to be a different character. Wasn't Gen. Steele crazy? Like when Klinger came up to him wearing a dress he said to him "Not now Marge- I'm inspecting the troops." Then Klinger ended up being the one to say how crazy he really was?

No, I know that - but as a kid back in 1980 or whenever I was watching it, I was confused.
