I'm suggesting the article is sensationalist, mostly due to this line:

Probably a good point, paraplegia isn't necessarily complete paralysis, at minimum it's impairment of motor function. In the audio interview she does say she was paralyzed so I would assume she had little use of her legs previously.

Regardless it's pretty amazing.
