Problem is with Deftech there's 4 dealers in Alberta (only one in Calgary). From my experience they don't like to haggle.

Also, on a discontinued speaker it may be tough to find in store.

I've bought some pretty big items on eBay before and I've never had an issue.

I did have a problem with a seller who didn't ship his product, but I was able to reverse the charges through PayPal and it was relatively painless.

This doesn't quite apply to your situation, but I had someone spend several hundred dollars on my paypal account without me know. Got most of it fixed right away but had to do that resolution/dispute thing for another $350. Took some time, but I never lost a dime. Scared me away from paypal for while, but it worked.
