Plus costco doesn't sell rims anymore. So if you want them mounted on new rims you have to go buy rims somewhere and bring them with you, show up at Costco at 6 AM to get a number, and they start working at 8 AM.

Was that your experience as well? They were the lowest price I've been able to find so far, but that seems so unlikely I'm still looking...

I've bought tires from WARD Tires and they've had excellent service. Costco I've bought from too and they've been great.

They do it cause I'm sure 99% of the people that email and ask for a quote probably don't provide enough or correct information which is required to get an accurate quote. I'm sure it's a better use of their time to have a 2 minute phone conversation (where they can get the correct information) as opposed to sending 10 emails back and forth over the course of a couple days.

TOGO Tire all the way. Super reasonable pricing on new tires, and when you see their facility lol, you will be sure you aren't paying any frivolous overhead costs.
Plus while you are waiting, you can hit the French Maid next door.
edit: Is it just me, but doesn't 'Urban Expressions' sound more like a Kitchen and Bath store?

Where do you guys go for tire reviews? I am trying to compare the Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 ($184.99/tire) to the Michelin Latitude X-Ice Xi2 ($239.99/tire).
These are the only tires available for my vehicle at Costco. After doing a little more research on what tires I want I will likely be giving Urban Expressions a call as well.

Costco has the most ######ed reservation system known to man. This time of the year, you have to be there at no later than 5am, wait for the door to be opened at 6am to get the number, do the paper work and come back again sometime later for the service to be done. I tolerated it because they had the free tire swap but now that's gone.

Country Tire has treated us well. Not sure if they're the cheapest, but if you get the tires from them, having the winter/summer tires swapped is really inexpensive and convenient.

+1 for Bob and Lorne at Urban Expressions (UrbanX). I think they're always busy anyways but this time of year especially so don't take their form letters personally. Always had great service from them. Prices are great and more than compete with online shopping (even though you're not looking). Ask for the beyond discount.

I just purchased tires from UrbanX this morning, and yes they are very busy. they literally have tires stacked to the ceiling! I called a couple of days ago, and gave them the details. Gary called me back at 8:00 pm that night and was awesome. He told me that starting last week, they will work 12 - 15 hour days, 7 days a week for the next 6 weeks or so. So, you might wanna cut them some slack.
I already have an appt. for next Saturday to get them installed, which they do in about 30 minutes.

I bought tires at Costco last year and the hassle wasn't worth the savings.
I ended up getting my mechanic to install them, I think Costco's wait was something like 3 weeks.

I've only bought tires once, and it was from Urban Expressions, and I'll buy from them again.
I had checked out Tirerack.com and 1010tires.ca and found a set of all seasons I wanted to buy and although UrbanX couldn't match the price exactly, they got close enough that the shipping from 1010tires.ca made them more expensive all in.
Great service and I highly recommend them.

Don't forget there are two Urban Expressions. Gary from the south location provides great service and price. Quoted me for my uncles MDX.
With Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 & Acura OEM Tire Sensors $1642.20 ALL IN (plus a $50 mail in rebate) this is including 17" RTX Bergen alloy rims.
