A sandbox is a pretty awesome tool though, I have never come across one that worked easily enough for a non-technical user though. I might have to check it out.

Off the top of my head, can't say for sure, but really, system resources are not effected much for me at all. I also have it installed on my wife's computer and hers is quite old and she never has any issues with system drag when she is on doing things.
Yup, the sandbox is a great tool. Nice when you want to ensure that something you are installing can be located inside the sandbox and not hurt your system in case you are not sure about it.
