Wow... my work place in Calgary. More females than males. (I think MORE than a 2:1 ratio)

Oldest is the boss at 35+ (but not yet 40)

There's a woman, I am not sure of her age, but I'd have to guess late 20s, early 30s

The rest at mostly in the early - mid 20s. I think the youngest we have now is 19.

I'm pretty sure success is 100%, mostly because of the screening process to get in. The minimum qualifications to get in is a graduate degree, very few end up in the targetted position. (others found "easier" jobs that were semi-relevant). The screening process was a pretty involved interview... mine was 9 hours, involving questions you were see on a university final exam, and a IQ test... so I guess when you get in, they keep you.

The training has been really good, everyone has treated me very well, they're bringing me in slowly, and I was assigned 3 mentors. So I think they have every intention of keeping me.

I work in aircraft rescue firefighting/airfield maintenance. We have 20 people in our division, 18 workers and 2 supervisors.

Every single person is white, male, and between 30-55. Yay, diversity!

Oil & Gas here

Engineering is nearly all dudes of varying ages.

Land is mostly girls, with one loud Italian male of about 50 years old.

Accounting is nearly all females of various child bearing ages. something like 20F to 3M.

I work as a lawyer, more specifically in Plaintiff side personal injury. There are many many lawyers who are 50-60+ years old. Seem to be not that many aged 35-50 and a fair number aged 35 or younger, although each year more and more drop out of the industry.

I think the bigger issue is with complex corporate work. Seems as though all the guys who actually know how to do it and actually have the connections to bring in customers are 60+ and everyone else is doing relatively mindless grunt work. A lot of companies have been training people to be lower level workers and very few train people to actually do the upper level work.

We are similar in that most of our employees are under 35 or over 50. Lots of retirements coming up and a lot of that experience will be lost as the younger generation takes over.

In our small Branch, the three others I work with are females aged 35-45.

I am the young pup of the group.

That's a pretty nice ratio. GREAT for washroom privacy I would imagine.

I have worked for the same transportation company for 5 years since I graduated university. I started in customer service and it was all new grads a good mix of guys and girls all roughly 23-30 (a few lifers in their 40's). I moved into a finance job in early 2010 and i was surrounded by people in their 40's-60's. Earlier this year I got in the marketing and sales side which is where I wanted to be. We have a good split of guys and girls and most of us are 25-30.
