The place is awesome... and it is one of those places where it is best to go alone. I like to ad unpredictability of the experience.
I am thinking the Reef'n'Beef for trashy lounges. The steak sandwich deal for lunch is great, but its the half-dead zombies playing the VLTs and the carpetting that elevates it to a true trashy experience.

Very sad. How the heck did this place operate for so long?

From the article: "Not only did the clerk refuse to let her through the locked front door, according to police, he never called 911 and later denied seeing anything."

Seriously??? What a poor excuse for a human being. There is so much wrong with that.

What does the Alcove look like inside? It was the Chinese restaurant Hi-Ho for over a decade and I often wonder how they redecorated the very unique interior with it's Chinese circular doorframes and the big painting of a junk. Any photos? My family basically visited Hi Ho every Sunday for what feels like 10 years.

My family would order Chinese food. I would order the Grilled Cheese & Fries or the Fish & Chips. Still some of the best meals I've had in memory.

All the while, the report says, it appeared management ignored many of the problems. Police report that during an undercover sting, an officer did a drug deal in full view of a hotel staff member, who never called police

To be fair, how often do minor drug deals get reported to police anywhere in the city? Of coutrse, I'm not saying drug deals never prompt citizens to call police, but that quote makes it sound like it's shocking that a drug deal went down in front of someone and the police weren't called.
