Found it. This sign has been there as long as I can remember, and its the only place in the city I've seen one like it.

We have a section of 9th avenue here in Sunnyside that isn't paved for about 1 block, very strange.

I also grew up in Dalhousie and I never heard that.

The only rumor of the area I remember was that somebody had been murdered in that root cellar that was down by the corner of Crowchild and 53 Str. before the overpass went in.

Oddly enough I also used to live near here too.
They used to put that sign went up every winter as a warning for anyone using that alley, and about 4 years ago they didn't bother to take it down in the spring and just left it there.
