Craft is having an Oktoberfest. I think it's running right now. Not sure how good the food would be but you can't go wrong with the beer selection.

It's just like St. Paddies day / Mardi Gras etc...

Everyone pretends they are German for a brief time.
Another reason to drink excessively.

http://www.avenuecalgary.com/blogs/oktoberfest-at-wurst

The kick-off party is this Friday beginning at 7 p.m. with a celebratory tapping of a Hacker Pschorr keg of beer.

Every day from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. will feature an oompah band. There is also a nightly stein holding competition — called a Masskrugstemmen — which involves holding a one-litre stein full of beer with your arm extended for as long as you can without spilling a drop. The women start at 10 p.m. and the men are up at 10:15 p.m. The world record is 19 minutes.

There’s a Miss and Mr. Oktoberfest competition, bratwurst eating contests, a live stein locker competition, specials for anyone wearing lederhosen and much more.

Wurst is located at 2437 4 St. S.W., 403-245-2345, wurst.ca.
