The annual Calgary Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival is three days of indulgence, offering a wide array of world-class wine, premium spirits, import beer and an assortment of fresh, local culinary creations. Attendee's indulge in quality beverages and cuisine in a fun, social and relaxed atmosphere during the Festival. The Grand Tasting Hall offers a unique opportunity to explore new products, interact with the experts and discover new favourites.
The kick-off party is this Friday beginning at 7 p.m. with a celebratory tapping of a Hacker Pschorr keg of beer.
Every day from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. will feature an oompah band. There is also a nightly stein holding competition — called a Masskrugstemmen — which involves holding a one-litre stein full of beer with your arm extended for as long as you can without spilling a drop. The women start at 10 p.m. and the men are up at 10:15 p.m. The world record is 19 minutes.
There’s a Miss and Mr. Oktoberfest competition, bratwurst eating contests, a live stein locker competition, specials for anyone wearing lederhosen and much more.

The feature menu includes warm house made pretzel sticks served with traditional hot mustard and garlic aioli, pork Bratwurst, rosti potato, sauerkraut, mustard and a Heffeweizen jus.
Beers featured include Erdinger Dunkel and Erdinger Weissebier, Alley Kat Ein Prosit, Hacker-Pschor, Konig Ludwig, Becks and Warsteiner Premium Dunkel.
