It does not cover acts of god, acts of war, or damaged occurring during the commission of a crime.

So.. If it was a military spy satellite, would it be considered an act of war?

It's going right for the groin of the Canucks fan that was hit with a flash bang.

The satellite is about the size of a bus. They don't say if any of it is made with gold. It is now scheduled to fall to earth on September 23rd.

I like this part...

Members of the public are not allowed to keep pieces of the satellite that may fall to Earth, or sell them on eBay, as they remain the property of the US government.

I would imagine that if this thing actually did harm someone or damage someones property they would be looking for ways to profit from it.

Could probably just do with a lawsuit though.

If it falls in Canada I say it is no longer US property.

The US government may like to claim that it remains theirs, but if that is the case, then it opens up a nice lawsuit over care and control of their property, and the consequential damage if they do not dispose of it properly.

they think it'll only come down tomorrow now.

Yesterday, they were pretty much ruling out North America.

Not anymore. it slowed down to take out the West Edmonton Mall.

The latest NASA data showed the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) was slowing down and changing its path so that a U.S. landing could no longer be ruled out. On Thursday, the U.S. space agency has said North America was out of range.
"The satellite's orientation or configuration apparently has changed, and that is now slowing its descent," NASA said in an update posted at 10:45 am (1445 GMT).
"There is a low probability any debris that survives re-entry will land in the United States, but the possibility cannot be discounted because of this changing rate of descent," the update said.
"It is still too early to predict the time and location of re-entry with any certainty, but predictions will become more refined in the next 12 to 18 hours," or between 0230 GMT and 0830 GMT Saturday.
