When was the last time we heard a speech like this from a US President? Instead we hear terror and "security" - what wonderful words now forgotten by JFK.

However, I'm 4 beers deep right now so I will digress.
You don't need a school to teach you how to think for yourself. If you can think for yourself then you'll question things and look for different ways of doing things. The economics of a society can change how you live.

Yes the message has been lost but it doesn't mean people can't change. Look at the youth and how they rebel in todays society. Screw your rules, i'm going to do it my way. Maybe there is hope after all.

Btw i'm 5 beers in - gotcha beat!

I am still in the rebel faze and in my 30's. I'm scared at what the future is bringing our children. We have no leaders as the true leaders are not existent today. Most of these speeches so far are how old?

YES we need schools to teach us how to think for ourselves and how to challenge our thoughts. When you are a kid you believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Clause... When you're in middle school you believe and trust your teachers as they do not lie... When your in college you begin to see what is wrong with the world but you never learned how to act upon it because you were too busy learning how a frog mates and how computers can help you add...

Who are the leaders of change today?

Lead Now is trying, but that's all I follow currently. http://leadnow.ca/

One of my personal favorites starts like this:

Yesterday, December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy......

One of the most defining speeches of the last 100 years in my opinion.

It's not a speech, but the last letter from Jack Layton.
