Yeah, it sucks for guys that so many girls seem to expect them to pay for dates. If a guy asks me out I'll always offer to split the bill (sincerely... not just offering to be nice). If I ask him out then I definitely don't expect him to be paying for me. He works just as hard for his money as I do, so why would I expect him to spend his hard earned cash on me? If women are all about gender equality these days anyway, this shouldn't be any different IMO. Of course, it's always nice when he insists that he pays, but I would never just expect it.

If you're concerned about dating spoiled princesses, I think there are ways to figure that out before you get the cheque on the first date. Hell, can't you figure that out before you even decide to ask her out? You just ask girls out because they're hot and then get to know them later? Is that how it works these days?

But I would never expect the girl to pay for a first date, I'd be embarrassed almost if they payed and I let them. Even if it's their idea I'd probably pay, if I'm going then its someone I'd want to go out with, I wouldn't want them to pay
