Dunno, you're probably right. I thought where the flames just signed an 18 year old free agent (Elson I think) that anybody could offer Bell a contract also but maybe there's a deadline on that after which he goes back into the draft.

If a player has passed through a draft unselected, they are eligible to join any NHL team's camp on a tryout basis. If the team brings that player to their main camp (as opposed to a rookie camp), they then gain the right to sign that player. That's what the Flames did with Elson.
Bell never went to an NHL camp, so he's still draft eligible for 2012.

Hopefully they install lights. That is the darkest rink I've ever been in.

Is Chris Dreidger still recovering from off-season knee surgery? If he is still recovering from off-season surgery hopefully he can fix the marginal goaltender that has gone for over a year now.

I thought it was an ankle injury? He attended a hockey Canada camp in the summer. The Hitmen need him back and healthy regardless because neither one of Snider or Glover are capable goalies. It doesn't help when the team in front of them is just running around all over the place.

Solid 4-2 win in the home opener. Too many mistakes leaving the zone though, and Gogolev needs to learn how to skate. I'm liking Rask's offensive ability.

I agree Rask looks like the real deal. The defence in the first two periods was a give away show but tightened up nicely in the third.
I'm hopeful there will be more progression from our young D this year than last.

Oh, and I wouldn't be opposed to the Flames drafting Sam Reinhart based on what I've seen so far. Little brother is looking mighty good for a 16-year-old.

First, they have to get Griffin in the next draft. Collect the whole set, like the Canes are doing with the second generation of Sutters.

funny story about that guy. There was one on Mayor Magrath too and one night a buddy, my ex and I decided we should go try to steal him. After getting a boost up and trying to manouver him off the treadmill sparks started to fly, it was awesome! The guy never worked again until they moved him to a different location.
But seriously "the rock" is getting some major money poured into it. I think it's about 2-3 million but not entirely sure how much the reno's are. Speaking with the guys from the city the hope is to draw some appeal for a memorial cup bid.

He's actually 15. Doesn't turn 15 until November 6th!

It's an ankle. Talked to him after the home opener. He should be close to getting back this weekend.

Don't you make he turns 16 on the 6th of November since he is 15 right now?

Hitmen trade Nathan MacMaster to the Americans for 20 year old dman Brock Sutherland.
Its an interesting move by Kisio, gives the Hitmen 5 overagers now. Bubnick, Snider, Miller, Sutherland and Wilson who is on an AHL tryout and rumors are he might not be back.

They can't figure out why they haven't already received the Memorial cup. They though they were shoo-ins for the last announcement. Nonetheless, that building is old in need of a makeover. Unless you talk to the non-hockey fans in Lethbridge. The building is fine and nothing needs to be done... like, c'mon! You're getting your stupid arts center so stop complaining about the hockey arena already.

Does Rask have to leave now?
Signed by Carolina.
Will suck for Hitmen I imagine.
Ps watched Moose Jaw v Edmonton highlights from Oct 19th. Arena looked very empty. Anyone have idea of the attendance up there.
