Jesus.

I'm in Arlington, VA (few blocks from the Pentagon) and it shook our apartment building and generally scared the beejebus out of us. I can't imagine what it was like down in Richmond, which is only a few dozen Kms from the epicentre.

They are doing a lot of evacuations in DC. Mainly precautionary, but they also want to prepare for aftershocks.

Maybe you're just shakey to begin with

Interesting. I didn't feel it but my other Ottawa friends seem to be split about 50/50.

I was on the 6th floor of a building near Baseline and Woodroffe, but some co-workers were out in Orleans and said that they didn't feel a thing there.

It's amazing that CP has people in every major natural disaster this world has had in the last year. Volcanos blowing up, earthquakes in VA and Japan and both monster tornadoes. Dobbles is right in the path of the hurricane too.

You can tell people on the east coast don't get a lot of earthquakes. Instead of hiding under a desk they ran out into the streets. I probably would have done the same.

I felt it in Scarborough, but it was nothing compared to the 6.5 in Vancouver 8 or 9 years ago that I experienced. Maybe it was scarier for people in highrises.

?? There was a 6.5 in Vancouver??

Don't recall that at all or I didn't feel it whatsoever. I don't remember a tremor around here being that high.

Nope, I live downtown, I was at work for the earthquake.

From what I hear, those apartments seem like quite the establishment
