Does staring at the wall of an hour also reduce your life expectancy?

If you give people the option, 90% of people would never use the manual labor TV.

Still, way too many factors for this to be meaningful to me. I think the most important part of the sentence is 'on average'. It's probably not even the television itself, just the fact that if your the type of person to watch a lot of TV, your also the type of person who eats poorly and doesn't get enough exercise. Which isn't really anything people don't know already.

The funny thing is every hour reduces your life by 21.8 minutes supposedly. What about the hour spent watching? That's usually a waste too!
So you get 21.8 less minutes of life and also another 60 minutes of life lost to sitting on the couch.

That's true of old CRT TVs. Modern LCDs and Plasmas are basically harmless. The harm in this study is probably due to the sedentary lifestyle encouraged by being a couch potato.

Under 25, there is a large chance of recovery from a lot of bad things, like smoking. The older you get, the more permanent and damaging certain activities or diseases or injuries become in the long term.

Every hour watching TV brings you an hour closer to the end of your life.

So, do you lose 44 minutes off your lifespan if you watch 2 TVs for an hour?

What's a dial monitor? Maybe you'll have a heart attack from the excitment and lose 21.8 years off your life.

Are not most of the people who are dying now have lived a great portion of their life without a TV?

So how do they get this if most havent lived a lifetime with a tv?

Maybe it's the radio or bigotry?

It says in the article:

Quote:
Conclusions TV viewing time may be associated with a loss of life that is comparable to other major chronic disease risk factors such as physical inactivity and obesity.
I read somewhere even though I hit the gym 3x's a week, soccer 2x's a week and I'm outdoors and active every weekend... the fact that I'm working in a cubical farm makes a couch potato cause I'm sitting so much. Not sure how to really change that, so what can ya do. So TV and computers are interchangeable.

Evil Bell TV has just added Discovery HD (1602) to go with Discovery World HD.
