Well, guess I don't have to write anything myself. Taking my family heritage and factoring in Jerzy Dudek's saves would make it even sweeter.

Finally - Arsenal winning the League at Anfield - 89.
Frig. I was at that match. It was so tense the entire match.
Arsenal go up 1-0 but need to win by two to take the title otherwise Liverpool win it.
The Reds had a great chance to tie it but Aldridge messed it up and then lo and behold Michael Thomas won it in injury time. Heart stopping stuff. I've never been so gutted in my life. Michael Thomas became a Liverpool player later in his career and I never could quite get over him scoring that goal.
For a neutral that was amazing stuff but as a die hard Liverpool fan it was a real tough pill to swallow.

I don't know if I need to see some famous moment in sports. Personally, I would like to see a regular season game in the original Yankee Stadium with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in the lineup. Against a defunct team like the Washington Senators, Philadelphia Athletics, or St. Louis Browns. Maybe a game in the Polo Grounds or at Ebbits field in their prime.
As a Chiefs fan I would have loved to see a game at Municipal Stadium in Kansas City in the 1960's. With Len Dawson behind E.J. Hollub at Center. Bobby Bell, Willie Lanier and Buch Buchanan defending.
Heck, I would even like to see a Flames game at the Stampede Corral.

When I made my list I was trying to think of great non-hockey events and this one crossed my mind too, great game. That final, title-winning shot by Jordan was legendary, what an absolutely perfect way to retire as the greatest of all-time...too bad he had to come back with a junk team a few years later, but I try & pretend that never happened (as do many I'm sure).
Another one would be game 6 of the '93 Finals when the Bulls edged Barkley's Suns, another classic series.
Jordan winning slam dunk contest and basically redifining the contest in 87. That image still gives me shivers.
Vince Carter again making the slam dunk contest relevant in one of the most famous non-regular season or playoff performances of all time when he won in 2000.
I seriously can't think of another more famous event that wasn't part of regular competittion. Maybe Jordan in 87 or Spud Webb in 86. I guess Pete Rose running that guy in the MLB ASG is pretty big.

All my "wish I had been there" sporting moments involve teams that I support and love.
2000-Portugal vs England, opening round, Euro 2000. Portugal down 2-0 after twenty minutes. Figo with an amazing blast from 35 yards to get them back in. Joao Pinto tied it before half. Nuno Gomes wins it late.
Euro 2004 was my favorite all time event. Showcased how beautiful Portugal is and had my team make a run to the final. Still can't believe they lost to Greece though. That one stings as much as Flames 2004.

Just for the atmosphere alone. First time Korea had reached the 2nd Round. Previously in the tournament, they had beaten Portugal and would go on further but this was the big test. Hong Myung-Bo, the captain, was appearing in his 4th and final World Cup, first time out of the first round. Could Korea beat the 3-time champions? The entire country was behind them!
Just listen.
^^The Ivanisevic-Rafter Wimbledon win was a great one especially because it was played on Monday and it was general admission. So people who normally wouldn't get tickets queued from 2am to get in and it was loud!

How about the Mayan Ball game, where the losing team was beheaded? Talk about pressure.
Sarich crushing Marleau was definitely one of the coolest feelings I've ever had at a live sporting event. Everyone in that building knew, despite being down 3-0, that the Flames would come back and win that game.

There is still no doubt in my mind that the game (as well as a couple other Korean games in that WC) was fixed. Italy had good goals called back, Totti got a red that was undeserved, and the reffing in general was just terrible.
I hate that game.

I was going to post something similar. That WC really turned me off soccer for a while because i was so ####ing pissed off at the blatant corruption.
Now I've basically learned to live with the fact that soccer is barely ahead of the WWE in terms of legitimacy. (hyperbole warning!!!)
That and I was about ready to kill myself after the Euro 2000 final.
