I've always been indifferent to Jimi Hendrix's music - but I get that to some people, especially musicians he's a legend.

When I was still reading electric meters for the City of Calgary, I had a house I had to go into to get readings over in Spruce Cliff. The guy who lived there was this 40 year old hippie dude who did well in oil and gas and retired to play his guitar 24/7. He had a HUGE picture of Hendrix in his living room and I asked him 'Big Hendrix fan huh?' His reply has stuck with me for over a decade now - "We're all fish living in Jimi's bowl man"

Santana is a one-dimensional musician. Jimi was a trans-dimensional musician. The difference is more than slight.
