The "Rehab" singer had a history of battling drugs and alcohol and recently left a British rehabilitation program that a representative said was intended to prepare her for scheduled European concerts.
But she cut short the European concert tour in Belgrade, Serbia, last month after she staggered around the stage and stumbled through several songs.

As others have said, this is sad, but not a surprise.

She had checked into the Priory clinic outside of London for a stint in rehab. This is a clinic that has seen numerous football players and musicians such as Elton John and George Michael. Sadly she was spotted buying a bottle of vodka an drinking some en route to the facility.
I've long been of the opinion that she would be found dead in an alley somewhere with a needle hanging out of her arm. Not sure what the conditions surrounding her demise are, but as many have said, this is of little surprise.

27 seems like a popular age for musicians to die it seems.
The saddest part is that she actually was a pretty good singer before she wrecked herself.

From reading a lot of rock biographies, I am amazed at how much some record companies enable the drug use. It seems the main task of many road managers is to score for the band.

A world where Heath Ledger passed by accident, whereas Winehouse continued to abuse drugs and live, is not something I was happy with. Time was ticking.

Well, it is about perspective. I won't be sad when you die. Why would I be? So, you are allowed to not be sad.

This thread will surely spiral into an argument of "she did it to herself, who cares" & "it's still sad"

Probably.
Can't say I'm sad, but I am disappointed to hear this. I was a fan of her last record and I think she had a lot of potential as a songwriter. I was looking forward to hearing her next record which, I believe, she had been working on intermittently at the behest of her record company.

Didn't really care for her music, or her in general, but its always sad when someone dies. Especially someone so young.

Nobody's fault but her own. I don't have much sympathy for people who are given a very special shot in life and blow it all away because of their own selfishness.

Feel bad for the people who loved her, but not for her. The world is a better place without her.
