A gunman has attacked a summer camp for kids just outside of the city now. He has a handgun. He was dressed as a police officer.

BBC is giving this headline:

"Shots fired at a gathering outside the capital of youth activists from the Labour Party which is led by the prime minister"

Not quite the same thing as a summer camp.

Both BBC and FOX has verbally called it a summer camp. It my very well be that "youth activists" are using the facilities this week. I havn't seen any more information yet.

It's a little unnerving to hear that the oil ministry was hit. Sends a chill up my spine.

Don't care about the motivation(s) at this point. Sort that out later.

For now, thoughts and prayers.

So is the asumption that the shooting and the bombings are part of the same larger plot, or is it a crazy coincidence?

Jeez... those pictures look like downtown Vancouver after a Nucks game.... (too soon?).

Anyway, horrible. I hope there are minimal casualties and injuries and that those responsible find swift justice. Bunch'a freakin' cowards to bomb an office building.

Sounds like they're going into lock down mode now.

The ages of the camps participants are from 15 to 25. It's location is on an island. 4 reported dead with others wounded. Don't know if the gunman has been captured/killed.

Considering that both targets are aimed at the current political party in power, it would be one huuuuuuge coincidence if these attacks weren't coordinated.

OK, hadn't refreshed the thread in awhile before my last post. WTF is going on Norway? Time to call in the storm troopers and lay a beatdown. Shooting at kids? Not remotely cool.

Prayers go out to the people of Norway.
Surprised there's no coverage on CBC, CTV, CNN or MSNBC. wtf?
Only outlet with live coverage is BBC World News.

Just when you think terrorists couldn't get any lower... they go after kids now? Pathetic. On a side note, I thinking Olli Jokinen was just reporting on BBC.

So, what type of political issues are at the the forefront in Norwegian politics right now, and who stands to gain the most in the govenment is terrorized into changing their stance on something?
