Girly, do you think that Rolland guy is going to drop back to help Voeckler?
Nope I think Voeckler told him to go ahead and try to win the stage.

Voeckler's tour has been nothing short of heroic. Fantastic finish.

So Evans and Schleck remain the same, Evans around 2 minutes behind?

Evans is definitely the better time-trialist but can he make up 2 minutes?

If he does or is close enough (within seconds) there could fireworks on the way to Paris which would be a rare treat.

It's 50/50 now.

25 years since a Frenchman has won an Alpe D'Huez stage. Well done, Rolland!

And Rolland gets to shake the hand of the man that did it on the podium (Hinault)

Fantastic stage today!
Alp d'Huez continues to deliver, year in, year out.
It all comes to the time trial. Going to be a crazy day tomorrow!

Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic stage, with Cadel only being 57 seconds behind Andy Schleck. One minute over 42km is a pretty big time gap when you compare time trial specialists like Fabian Cancellara, Tony Martin and even Cadel to a lesser extent. But when you compare between those guys and the tiny climbers like the Schlecks they would be lucky and have to have a fantastic ride to stay within a minute of them. That is why tomorrow promises to be such am interesting stage as Cadel theoretically should have it, but as you guys know sports never follow what supposed to happen.

Go Cadel!

Looks like it's over early. Evans has nearly made up the entire time on A. Schleck at the first quarter pole.

Cadel has had such bad luck for so long on the tour, it is almost like he is a cursed man. I wish i could watch this right now!

Congrats to Cadel and all Aussies! After producing so many great cyclists tehy finally have their Tour.

I've been a fan of Cadel since way back when he was destroying the competition in world cup mountain biking (he was a champ before he was 20 if I remember correctly).

Two and a half minutes over Andy, wow. I was pretty confident in Evans winning but not by that much. I'm going to be pretty sad when this tour is over as it has been one of the closest and most exciting tours in a long while.

amazing ride by Evans. Saw him race the World Cup as a mountain biker. Happy to see him in yellow. Sad for poor Andy Schleck, who will have to settle for bridesmaid once more.

too bad for Andy...needed a much bigger gap, or one more day to recover from his efforts on the Alps.

Kudos to Cadel though - fantastic effort and a dangerous rider all through the tour.

A Digger winning the Tour? Disgraceful.

Congrats to Evans on the victory. He rode an extremely well planned Tour.

Already waiting for the return of the Schleks next year.

Looking at heading over to France next year for holiday and possibly catch some of Le Tour (along with an F1 race in Valencia)...anyone watched a serious bike race live (ideally the Tour de France...but any Grand Tour)...is it worth it??

I know someone who went over and caught a couple of tour stages and he thoroughly loved it. I think you need to be a fairly big fan though as depending on the stage you will either see "whoosh" there they went or on a mountain stage you need to be there way in advance. I think they say people on alp d'huez camp out for 2 days? Taking in a lesser mountain stage or situating yourself along the secondary climb of the day might be the better option as you'd have less people but still see them as they rode past you going up hill instead of flying past you on the flats. It would be a day of waiting for a few minutes of activity.

Along the Champs Elysee is where I'd want to be as you'd at least be ensured of getting a look at everyone...provided you could get to the barrier and not be stuck 15 people back.
