I like Winnipuck as well.
As mentioned its more about the users. Also make sure you have great mods. A mod should be fair and very patient. And of course you'll need good technical help. I remember when Scotty would be fixing problem after problem here years back. It won't be easy.

Why do all the work to build a fan base on a free site? Run by someone else, earning revenue for all your hard work, and not guaranteed to be reliable or manageable as it grows.

If you think this is good you should have seen it a few years ago. The quality of posts was much more consistant. Maybe I cant comment because I lurked for far longer than ive been a poster but it seems like the posters were quick to flame bad posts back then and now it seems like the post quality has to be much worse to warrent flaming.

Good point. That's actually a great aidea
I'll run it by the boys. Turns out we decided on hockeyonmaroons.com (name was not my choice....lol), which is where the old Winnipeg Arena was located. If anyone wants to check it out and offer advice, we can really use it. In the meantime, i'll be keeping Winnipegpuck open as my own project, so feel free to post.
