Reading in this months Nuclear News that (from memory so I may not be 100% correct):
-the Westinghouse AP1000 design is nearing approval in many jurisdictions
-Saudi Arabia will be building ~20 reactors over the next 20 years at a a cost of $7 billion each. They expect the first two will be online in 10 years followed by 2 or so every year after. They have energy needs that are rising at 5% a year and Nuclear is the only answer for them.
-Switzerland is trying to decide what to do going forward. If they keep the current mix of power they will likely close down the 3 nuclear plants they currently have and build 2 of new design. Not keeping the current mix means that they will be evaluating impacts
-Germany still saying they will close down all plants by 2022. No one outside of the legislators believe Germany can have any sort of energy independence without Nuclear power. Good chance that at some point in the next 5 years the political concerns of that will out weigh the nuclear concerns
-France's EDf after a couple of inprogress purchases is set to become the world's largest energy producer with a planned 50% nuclear, 25% renewable, 25% fossil fuel mix
